Help to raise vital funds for the 2010 Good Friday Appeal
Sunday 14 March
The Run for the Kids was first staged in 2006 and is held as a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal. 30,000 runners participated in 2009 and the event raised over $1 million for the hospital.
The 2010 Herald Sun/CityLink Run for the Kids long course incorporates all of the unique features that have made it a landmark event and gives participants access to normally off-limit roads. Runners will make their way along Pearl River Road and the Waterfront City promenade.
The best viewing areas for spectators are as follows:
- Kings Domain
- Large grass areas in Queen Victoria Gardens and Alexandra Gardens
- Along Harbour Esplanade and the Waterfront City Promenade in Docklands
- Along Flinders Street between Queensbridge Street and Swanston Street
- Along Swanston Street, Princes Bridge and St Kilda Road to the Art Gallery
Please note: Families and friends are encouraged to come along and enjoy the morning, but traffic restrictions will apply and parking will be limited. Due to road closures, it will be difficult to move around the city to view participants from more than one vantage point.
For those of you who have missed out on running there is still the opportunity to participate by taking up one of the many volunteer roles, which play an enormous role in the staging of this event.
